A small company with big-company experience

We are a small team with the experience and capabilities of much larger companies. We deliver everything needed for automation and overall control – without the overhead of big suppliers and with direct contact to the people who actually work on your project.

  • Price

No unnecessary overhead or middlemen. You pay for the work, not for the organisation.

  • Quality

Methods and standards from large industrial projects, documentation and testing.

  • Versatility

From consulting and analysis through electrics, controls and software to service.

What we do

We cover the entire life cycle of a control system: from concept, mechanical and electrical design through programming and visualisation to on-site commissioning and long-term support. Customers handle controls and electrical work with one partner who knows the project in detail. Our team includes programmers, an electrical designer and a mechanical designer, and we build on Industry 4.0 principles. We deliver everything automation and control require.

Retrofits, upgrades and repairs

An older machine or line does not have to be scrapped because of outdated controls. We migrate it to a current platform, add new functions, fix what does not work and extend its service life for a fraction of the cost of new equipment.

  • Analysis of the current state and modernisation proposal
  • Migration of programs to a new PLC generation
  • Migration of operator panels and visualisations
  • Extending existing systems with new machines, functions and signals
  • Repairs and fault diagnostics of controls and electrics
  • Adding diagnostics, remote access and documentation
  • Short downtime thanks to thorough preparation and testing in advance

Simulation and virtual commissioning

We verify both the program and the mechanical design of a machine or line on a digital model before manufacturing and assembly begin. Errors are found in simulation rather than on site, and commissioning is significantly shorter.

  • Simulation of equipment and processes to debug the control program
  • Virtual commissioning of machines and lines on a digital twin
  • Verification of design, motion and collisions before manufacturing
  • Testing the visualisation and training operators before delivery

Clear program

Structured, commented code with consistent naming that your maintenance team or another supplier can understand.

Complete documentation

Operating manual, functional description, I/O list and parameters – clearly structured and in a consistent design.

Operator training

Operators and maintenance know how to run the plant and what to do in case of a fault before we leave.

Support after handover

We remain available for service, modifications and remote diagnostics. We know the plant, so we never start from scratch.

Service and support

We look after the plants we delivered as well as existing solutions from other suppliers. We tailor support to how critical your operation is.

Support for existing systems

We take over the care of running control systems and visualisations regardless of who supplied them. We analyse the program, complete the documentation and backups, and then provide diagnostics, repairs, modifications and extensions.

SLA service contract

Guaranteed response and repair times, regular preventive inspections, program backup management and on-call service if required. Scope and response times are agreed according to your needs.

Remote diagnostics

Via secure remote access we resolve most requests without a site visit – quickly and without unnecessary costs. We come on site where it is really needed.

About us

Benešl Automation is a team of programmers, an electrical designer and a mechanical designer. This lets us deliver a project from mechanical and electrical design through programming and visualisation to commissioning, without handovers between other suppliers.

The company is led by Ing. Tomáš Benešl. He studied automation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Brno University of Technology. As a doctoral student and researcher he worked at Brno University of Technology, in the Cybernetics and Robotics group at CEITEC BUT and in the Industrial Automation group at the Department of Control and Instrumentation, where he taught Industrial Automation Tools, Process Automation and Communication Technologies in Automation. He is a co-author of more than 30 scientific publications on Industry 4.0, digital twins and production control. In parallel he has long been delivering industrial projects, so our team connects research with real-world operations.

Outside work Tomáš enjoys discovering new destinations around the world, riding his motorbike, taking photos and above all spending time with his family and child. New technologies are also his hobby, which is reflected in the solutions we design.

You will never see Tomáš at work in anything other than shorts, summer or winter. If your company standards require it, though, he will sadly put on long trousers, a hard hat and the rest of the PPE.

Every project has one responsible person you deal with directly from the first meeting to handover. Besides industry we work on embedded development and smart buildings and keep track of new technologies, so that the solutions we deliver are modern and maintainable in the long term.

FAQ

Will you take over a project programmed by someone else?

Yes. We first review and document the existing program so it is clear what the plant does and how. Then we continue with modifications or service. For older systems we also assess whether modernisation is worthwhile.

Do you travel outside South Moravia?

Yes. We have projects all over the Czech Republic and abroad. Much of the work can be done remotely; we travel on site mainly for surveys, commissioning and training.

Do you work with systems other than those listed?

Yes. Besides Siemens, Beckhoff, B&R and WAGO we adapt to the platform in your standard or the one you prefer. The same applies to visualisation – WinCC, Control Web, Reliance, AVEVA InTouch, Promotic, Movicon or another SCADA system.

Do you also supply hardware and control cabinets?

We design the complete hardware including the cabinet and arrange delivery. If you have your own panel builder, we'll gladly work with them and provide the documentation.

Do you work for integrators as a subcontractor?

Yes, many of our references came about in cooperation with integrators. We adapt to your standards, libraries and documentation style.

What if something needs changing after handover?

After handover we remain available for modifications, service and remote diagnostics. We also offer SLA contracts with guaranteed response times, preventive inspections and backup management. Scope and response times are agreed according to your needs.

Do you also do smart homes for private customers?

Yes. We build home automation on an industrial PLC – reliable, supported for a long time and independent of the cloud. We also deliver KNX installations programmed in ETS. Common smart devices are integrated via the modern Matter and Thread standards. It's best to start at the design stage, when the wiring can be prepared properly.

How soon can you start?

It depends on our current workload. Tell us the date you need and we'll reply within two working days whether we can make it.

Let's talk

Briefly describe the plant, scope and deadline. We'll reply within two working days and suggest the next steps.
